The series Bridging Gaps connects different parts of my identity by drawing comparisons between physical structures, like bridges, and my own journey of internal reconciliation. I explore my cultural heritage, personal beliefs, and societal expectations, weaving together the diverse parts of who I am. Through these images, I use visual metaphors to represent both real and symbolic acts of bridging divides. By juxtaposing bridges with archival images from Tanzania, I create a sense of distance and tension that reflects the challenges of navigating multiple identities. This work uses visual storytelling and self-reflection to explore the layered process of integrating these personal aspects.
